OF GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE...
The trouble with the medium of photography is that it is always emblematic of the past, but can photography be created which presents the possible destruction of Planet Earth caused by global warming and climate change in the future?
Nearly ten years ago, I began an experiment in subjecting film transparencies to a global warming environment to prove that this was possible.
Over the ensuing years, many of the transparencies changed irreversibly…the organic, fungi based changes to the images are now iconographic symbols to stimulate your imagination. Do they suggest a new, organic beauty on Planet Earth? Or signs of a Planet unable to sustain life?
The EDENDEWPICS encourage the importance of an active and positive can-do attitude to lessen the impact of global warming and climate change throughout all tiers of the community - for the generations to follow us.
